Things to do for Maidens

The first set of items I need to finish are for Maiden which is Saturday, January 19th. Therefore sewing for this event will need to be done by Friday, January 18th.

My goal for this event is to get Lukas's Linen Fighting outfit fixed as well as finish his red German plunderhosen outfit.

I also want to get Anton's 14th century fighting pants & hosen done. Finally, I would like to finish my brown camp frau outfit, so I have something to wear :-)

I will post pictures, designs, ext of each item as I work on them.

My Gigantic List of Things To Do

I have a good heart. I like to help people. Unfortunately A LOT of times I offer to help someone, but don't end up getting everything done in a nice neat time frame. This has become a huge issue with me, Lukas, and where I would like to be in the SCA.

Lukas made me create a list of EVERYTHING I have promised people or have started upon and haven't finished. It was a much longer list then we both thought it would.

Due to this one fact- I am going to have to stop offering people my help for 2008 in order to get this list done. I have spent the last 2 days organizing EVERYTHING I have promised people, and now it is all hung up or folded with patterns and zip locked. This has helped clean up my sewing room.

I inventoried everything while putting it all away and typed up my list. The list totaled 56 items (it says 53 but I just remembered 2 other things I offered to do) . I told you it was a large list. After typing everything up and organizing it-I put it in a doable order. One might ask how I came to know what order to rank these-I used my best judgment, as well as how long ago the item should have been delivered, what state the item is in, and when the item is needed. I am going to be pretty firm on the order of this list.

You can view a copy of this MASTER list at http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pSpV3lNaM-dfwjdBCZ5gTfg&hl=en . I have also created a link to it, on the side links area. I will try to keep it up to date, but I might just end up knocking the things off as I finish them.

I will be posting a more thorough SCA New Years Resolution Blog within the next couple of days. However, I did want people to know, that in order to finish this list I will start doing a Wednesday Sewing Night (Monday is always hectic, Tuesday there are local meetings, Thursday there is a sewing night I want to try to go to, and Friday-Sunday are event days). Anyone who has something on this list is welcomed to join me. Other people/friends are also welcomed, but I will warn you, I cannot afford to take time out to do your outfit for you. I will help teach you if you want to learn-but only if you try to learn- I will show you how to do it, tell you why you are doing it that way, and you do it- I don't have time to do it for you, or to watch you do it. If you don't know how to sew- don't worry, If your enthusiastic and want to learn, I still want to teach! I have plenty of machines , and will have something supplied for dinner (Soup in the winter, salad in the summer)

I mentioned earlier that I will be pretty stern on the order of the list-the one exception will be if you help me :-) Let's say you have something here, and you want to make sure it gets done by a specific event. Well then come over on Wednesday, have some soup or salad, and help make sure it gets done. You don't know how to sew? Well that's ok too :-) I have plenty of things I could use help with from cutting threads, to organizing and rolling fabric. No, I won't put you to doing dishes or cleaning bathrooms :-) The sooner I get this list done, the sooner I can make new and exciting stuff for you my friends :-)
