Battle of Bouvines

Battle of Bouvines- July 27, 1214. A conclusive medieval battle ending the twelve year old War of Bouvines, confirming the French crown's sovereignty over the Norman lands of Brittany and Normandy and also in forcing the English king, John of England to sign the Great Charter or Magna Carta giving rights to men and thereby establishing British common law.
